It all started when…
The journey in healing began not with massage but with movement. I grew up studying dance and martial arts. Between these two houses, I began realizing the energies behind movement, every path had a “way”, and finding your “way” is grounding, allowing you to shift energy inside yourself and others. Utilizing an understanding of how we use our musculoskeletal systems, I have found my “way” in performing massage techniques by flowing with the tension in the body, and increasing the energetic flow, all while holding compassion for all we use our containers for. We create stress (injury or mental), stress settles in our body, identifying the neurological connection through relaxation is a key for doing the work.
In 2014 I began the journey of becoming a licensed massage therapist at East West College of the Healing Arts, in Portland, Oregon. There I completed an 800 credit hour program witch had a focus on Deep Tissue and Swedish Massage. Oregon also requires 200 of those hours to be in Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, and Kinesiology. During school I had a focus on Sports Massage, Thai Massage, and Spa Therapy.
Since getting licensed in 2015 I have made the focus of my practice on increasing the flow and communication of the body from the central nervous system (CNS) to the peripheral nervous system (PNS). Bringing attention and mobility to the muscles of the back and vertebrae, I find what is necessary for the body to begin healing. If there is a dam or blockage up stream the flow of information to the healing area will have less effect, or not possible. The CNS houses all the workers and the PNS is the highway of communication. From head to toe we focus on the flow of information and from toe to head we look at structure. An injury in a foot can shift how you move, using your body in abnormal ways, leading to pain higher up in the body. I leave the cause of a healing area open to many possibilities.
In tandem with massage I began studying at Spiral Gateway Energy Healing in 2014. This practice has lead me through 5 years of learning about the Chakra System, Auric Fields, and the connections to our physical bodies. Having a greater awareness of how stress settles in the body, I have learned to work with a tool box of mantras, visualizations, and to be a guide back to our bodies. So often others energy get inside our system, but your body, the space you take up, that container, is meant for your energy only. In this practice we address and identify what is causing the ailment in your body, speaking to what is most necessary for your highest healing and perfection.
I invite those whom want to come back into their bodies to my practice, noticing the healing that is ready to shift, integrating muscles hurt or forgotten about, learning more from themselves.
